Join Us for Garguree Swampcare – Sunday May 4
We’re gathering again on Sunday, May 4 for our next Garguree Swampcare day — and you’re warmly invited to join us.
Each month, we come together at Garguree (The Gully, Katoomba) — a declared Aboriginal Place known traditionally as Gedumba — to care for Country, restore native habitat, and deepen our connection to land and community.
This is a volunteer-led event where we work from 9:30am to 12:30pm, helping to bring back the original flora and fauna of this special place. It’s not just about weeding and planting — it’s also about healing, learning, and walking gently together on Country.
🌿 Where we’ll be:
Up on the hill, where Bella and I will have the campfire set up — a place to gather, yarn, and share stories as we work.
☕ What to bring:
Bring a snack to share, your own cup or mug, and come prepared for some hands-on care for the land. With the recent cooler weather, it’s a perfect time for weed removal and restoration work.
These days are a meaningful way to support the environment while building personal wellbeing and community connection.
We hope to see you there.
