A Welcome to Country is a deeply respected cultural practice, offering a traditional invitation to enter and engage with Gundungurra land. Performed by a Traditional Owner, it acknowledges Elders past, present and emerging, and fosters understanding, respect, and connection between peoples and Country.

Having been taught by Elders, including my Mother Aunty Mary King, it is always an honour to perform a Welcome to Country on Gundungurra Nation. Each Welcome includes traditional stories of the land and people, and often features elements like a Smoking Ceremony and clapsticks, bringing ancient traditions to life.
